Notifications

We have been attentive to the latest developments on the COVID-19 worldwide. The present circumstances obliged us to postpone this meeting to a later date.
Therefore, we would like to consult the NRM community regarding possible changes in the schedule. To this end, we will send an email with the link to add your vote in the coming days.
At this point, the possible changes are:

  • Postpone the regular meeting to 30 November, 01, 02 December 2020
  • Postpone the regular meeting to 09, 10, 11 December 2020
  • Postpone the regular meeting to 2022
Furthermore, We will cancel all existing registrations and will refund all registration fees. We will also re-open the abstract webpage for those who would like to update their work.

Since 1997, the NRM convenes experts in the field of neuroreceptors and serves as a platform to discuss the latest breakthroughs in quantifying neuroreceptors in the human brain using Positron Emission Tomography (PET). A wide range of methodological advances are traditionally discussed, including novel brain molecular imaging agents, pharmacokinetic analysis, radio metabolites and analytical methods are traditionally discussed in this meeting. Furthermore, the NRM includes sections devoted to neuroreceptor abnormalities in neuropsychiatric and neurological conditions with particular attention to quantification of protein aggregates in neurodegenerative conditions.

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to join us in Montreal, Canada, for the NRM 2020 meeting from June 20 to 23. The NRM2020 will offer an exciting scientific and social program for discussing the latest research involving PET neuroreceptors. Over the three-day NRM meeting, one can expect excellent scientific sessions and social events in one of the best seasons to visit the charming Montreal.
I also would like to invite you to the PET-PK course. This is a unique opportunity to learn the basics of PET quantification from the leaders of the field. This year, this educational course will take place from June 18-20 at the Montreal Neurological Institute, one of the most prestigious institutions in neuroimaging.

Invitation letter for visa: The NRM2020 secretariat will provide a letter of invitation to aid obtaining a visa for entry into Canada. It is the sole responsibility of the participant to take care of any visa requirements. Participants who require an entry visa must foresee sufficient time for the visa application procedure. Participants should contact the nearest local Embassy or Consulate of Canada to determine the appropriate timing and conditions of the visa application. Abstracts and Conference Details

Abstract Submission Deadline: 19th Feb, 2020

Acceptance: The members of the scientific committee will review and assess the merit of all abstract submissions. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will be emailed by end of February.

Abstract guidelines: Abstracts should contain at most 350 words and 2 figures and should follow the following structure: title, introduction, methods, results, conclusion. Abbreviations (of compounds, for example) must be spelled out in full at the first use. Do not use abbreviations in the title. Use only standard abbreviations. Capitalize the first letter of all trade names. For session planning purposes, please choose one of the following themes for your abstract.

Presentation guidelines:

  • Oral Presentation: 15 mins (10 mins presentation + 5 mins Q&A)
  • Posters: 48" x 48"

Travel Fellowships: A limited number of travel fellowships are available to student and postdoc presenting authors. The NRM2020 subcommittee will review and evaluate applications based on a scientific merit and financial need. Applications must be submitted in conjunction with an abstract.

Trainee Awards: Outstanding posters and orals presented by trainees at the NRM2020 are eligible for 2 Poster and 2 Presentation awards. During the oral or poster sessions at the NRM2020 a jury, consisting of members of the scientific committee, will select the winning posters. The choice of the jury will be based on scientific excellence and quality of the presentations.

Montreal

Montréal is the second most-populous city in Canada and occupies about three-fourths of Montreal Island (Île de Montréal), the largest of the 234 islands of the Hochelaga Archipelago on the St. Lawrence river. Montreal is the birthplace of neuroimaging in Canada and one of the most important neuroscience community worldwide. The sunny month of June and countless cultural events makes Montreal the perfect scenario for combining advances in neuroscience with festival delights.

Weather: The temperature in Montreal during June ranges from 22 to 28 degrees centigrade, and 72 to 82 degrees in Fahrenheit.

Currency: The Canadian currency is the Canadian dollar. There are 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 dollar bills. Smaller coins are 5, 10, and 25 cent pieces as well as 1 and 2 dollars. Banking and credit cards are also welcome almost everywhere. Note that 1 CAN$ ~ 0.75 US$ or 0.68 Euro.

Language: There are two official languages in Canada – English and French.

Taxes: Purchases are subject to two applicable taxes in Québec: a federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 5% and a Québec provincial tax (TVQ) of 9.975%. A 3.5% accommodation tax is also in effect in Montreal.

Tipping: Typical tips in restaurant, taxi drivers is 15% of the bill, before taxes.

Electricity: Canada operates on 110V, 60 cycle electric power. Non-North American visitors should bring a plug adapter.

PET Pharmacokinetics Course

The PET Pharmacokinetics Course will be held from 18th June to 20th June, 2020 at the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI), in Montreal, Canada. The course will take place just prior to NRM 2020. Registration for the course will be separate from the main NRM conference.
The PET Pharmacokinetics Course has been an annual event held immediately prior to NRM and Brain-PET for more than 20 years. It is designed for anyone who would like to gain a better understanding of the principles involved in PET kinetic modeling and analysis. The course is immersive, including more than 15 lectures plus interactive discussions and hands-on computer exercises. It is appropriate for physicians, researchers with a wide range of backgrounds, including medicine, physics, chemistry, neuroscience, and pharmacology as well as for graduate students. Course students have come from academia and industry.
